The series of seizures started on November 15, when CBP officials halted a silver Chevrolet SUV for examination upon its entry from Mexico in an effort to keep our borders safe. The regular check became extraordinary when 27.78 pounds of suspected cocaine were found concealed within the car thanks to CBP’s meticulous approach, which included using non-intrusive inspection tools and a canine team. A few hours later, the CBP conducted another well-coordinated operation, this time stopping illicit firearms and ammunition that were being transported in the opposite direction. Officers discovered four handguns, 1,070 rounds of ammunition, six magazines, and 21 weapon components in a white Chevrolet pickup during outbound inspections at the Anzalduas International Bridge. These goods may have fueled violent operations and caused serious damage if they had been smuggled into Mexico.
Two days later, on Sunday, officers showed their unwavering attention to detail once again when they found 30 bags of suspected cocaine, totaling 77.34 pounds, inside a white Mazda SUV. The estimated worth of the drugs is $1,032,614. “Our CBP officers don’t skip a beat when it comes to keeping our country safe,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez in a statement released by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, expressing pride and dedication. These consecutive drug, weapon, and ammo interceptions highlight the tireless efforts being made at our port of entry.
