11-month-old Baby Found in Wichita Canal, Father Charged With Aggravated Violence and Child Endangerment

WICHITA, Kan (DDN) – According to court records from Sedgwick County, a man from Wichita is facing four and a half years in prison for a case from last summer in which an 11-month-old daughter was discovered in a canal in Wichita.

Vincent Perez, who has been identified as the father of the kid, was charged with aggravated violence and aggravated child endangerment.

In July, a stranger driving along the canal route saw the baby and contacted 911. The baby was found by the police with a sunburn, naked, and with a scrape on her forehead.

She was covered in muck as well. The youngster was brought to the hospital, where physicians found bruises all over her body.
