SUMMIT, Ariz. (DDN) – According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, a female who was 17 years old lost her life in a car accident that occurred early Friday morning in the vicinity of East Summit Street and South Camino Casitas.
According to a news release, deputies responded to reports of a car collision at roughly 4:30 a.m. on January 31 and found the teen inside the car.
According to the PCSD, they discovered a Honda Civic with two people inside when they arrived.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the passenger, a 17-year-old girl, was declared dead at the site. As per the announcement, the driver was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The PCSD revealed that the crash is being investigated by detectives from the PCSD Traffic Unit.
According to the agency, the initial findings suggest that the vehicle was heading westbound on Summit Street when it off the road, crashed into a block wall, and rolled onto its passenger side.
According to investigators, the crash may have been caused by speeding, impairment, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
The investigation is still in progress.
