18-Year-Old Arrested for DUI After Waltham Crash That Took Down Utility Pole

WALTHAM, Massa. (DDN) – Early on Monday morning, two cars crashed into a utility pole in Waltham, causing the pole to fall to the ground. Two juveniles were charged in connection with the incident.

According to a statement from the officers, the Waltham police observed a white Volkswagen and a black BMW speeding south on Crescent Street just before they collided with one another at approximately 1 a.m.

According to the Waltham Police Department, the cars caused damage to the power pole and the properties located at 395, 397, and 403 Crescent St.

According to the police, three men exited the vehicle and ran away from the site. A passenger from one of the automobiles was discovered by emergency workers, who then provided him with treatment for his mild injuries.

According to the police, the driver of the Volkswagen, an 18-year-old guy from New Hampshire, was arrested for the following offenses: possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, operating under the influence of alcohol (first offense), careless operation of a motor vehicle, fleeing the scene of property damage, and speeding.

According to officials, he was examined by EMTs and refused to receive any additional care.

According to authorities, a 19-year-old guy from Burlington, who was recognized as the driver of the BMW, was found and charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle, fleeing the scene of property damage, and speeding.

There is no information available at this time regarding any power outages, but it seems that the residences in the area still have electricity.
