SANTA ROSA, Fla. (DDN) – One person was killed in a head-on collision with a semi-truck on Highway 4 in Santa Rosa County on Monday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old Baker woman lost her life in a collision between her vehicle and a tractor trailer around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 4 close to Hurricane Lake Road. There were just minor injuries to the truck’s driver, a 56-year-old Milton man.
The cause of the collision is still being looked into by FHP Traffic Homicide and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.

Recently, the Troy Police Department arrested a Royal Oak man for driving under the influence after they found him slumped over the wheel of a brand-new truck that had been severely damaged in an accident.
The cops were called to 4555 Investment Drive, near Crooks and Long Lake, early on Thursday, February 6, 2018, to do a welfare check on a driver who was parked in the lot.
When the 2025 GMC Sierra was parked in the lot with its hazard lights off, the driver was reportedly slumped over the wheel.
The cops who were on the scene noticed that the truck smelled like alcohol and that the driver’s speech was slurred. Additionally, the car had two flat tires and the crash had seriously damaged them.
The driver of the car, a 37-year-old man from Royal Oak, Michigan, was arrested and sent to the Troy Police Lock-Up Facility. After being informed of his rights regarding the Chemical Test, he agreed to take the Chemical Breath Test, which yielded results of 16.75% and 16.55%, respectively.
