An 18-year-old man from Apopka met a tragic end last night after his vehicle struck a utility pole in Orange County. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred around 10:20 p.m. on Rock Springs Road near Ponkan Road.ClickOrlandodetailed that the driver lost control of a 2014 Infiniti Q50, veering off the road and onto the sidewalk. The car then collided with the pole and rebounded into the southbound lanes.

The impact force was strong enough to send the vehicle back across the travel lanes. The investigation continues to determine why the man left his lane, triggering the fatal chain of events.
