CANYON COUNTY, Ida. (DDN) – A car accident that occurred in Canyon County east of Caldwell resulted in the death of one individual from the Boise area and the hospitalization of another driver. The crash happened on Tuesday.
A guy from Meridian, Idaho, who was 37 years old, was driving a Kia Sportage north on Franklin Road shortly before 10 o’clock at night when he failed to yield to a stop sign at the junction of United States Highway 20-26, according to a news release issued by the Idaho State Police.
The release stated that the Kia was involved in a collision with a Ford pickup that was being driven by a woman from Templeton, California who was 21 years old.
The driver of the Kia reportedly succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. According to the police announcement, the driver of the Ford was taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.

The name of the person who passed away has not been made public by the Canyon County Coroner’s Office as of yet.
After the accident, the roadway was stopped for approximately three hours so that emergency personnel, such as the Idaho State Police, the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, and Canyon County Paramedics, could work at the scene of the collision.
A probe of the incident is being conducted by the Idaho State Police.
