42-year-old New Jersey Man Charged With Murder After Allegedly Killing Wife and Hiding Body in Pennsylvania (1)

DDN – A 42-year-old New Jersey man allegedly murdered his 39-year-old wife and disposed of her body outside of the state.

According to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, Jadan Sumba’s family reported her missing to the Elizabeth Police Department on January 9, after not seeing her since the day before. Officers discovered her remains in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, on January 11.

According to the records acquired by NJ.com, authorities discovered the victim’s body in a garbage container, where she died from sharp force injuries.

Sumba and her husband, Rolando Corte, apparently had marital troubles before to her death. According to NJ.com, their 21-year-old son stated that they had conflicts. Sumba reportedly dropped her two youngest children off at school on Wednesday, January 8.

During a check of the couple’s house, authorities claimed discovered blood in the kitchen and the hallway outside their bathroom.

According to NJ.com, Corte confessed to killing his wife before driving Sumba’s body to Pennsylvania to hide it. Investigators gathered plate readers and mobile phone ping evidence, indicating that he drove from Union County to Pennsylvania.

On January 14, prosecutors stated that they had charged Corte with first-degree murder. He was detained on Sunday, January 12, and was set to appear in court on Thursday, January 16.
