5-year-old in Critical Condition After Multi-vehicle Crash in Philadelphia’s Bridesburg

PHILADELPHIA (DDN) A 5-year-old kid is fighting for his life after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Philadelphia’s Bridesburg neighborhood Monday night, according to police.

According to preliminary information released by Philadelphia police, three of four cars were engaged in the incident, which occurred shortly before 9:20 p.m. at Aramingo Avenue and Wakeling Street.

According to authorities, the striking vehicle was going northbound on Aramingo Ave. when it collided with one or more of the vehicles involved, resulting in a chain reaction car collision.

The striking vehicle was believed to be occupied by a mother, the driver, and her 5-year-old kid.

The 5-year-old suffered severe brain injuries, according to investigators.

Medical personnel sent the boy to St. Christopher’s Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

One of the vehicles halted was driven by a dad and his 6-year-old daughter. According to authorities, both were shook up but not hurt.

This is a continuing investigation.
