On the evening of November 7, a 48-year-old man was struck by a vehicle on Franklin Avenue while walking northbound outside of a marked crosswalk just east of Van Ness Avenue. The suspect’s vehicle, described only as traveling westbound on Franklin Avenue, fatally injured the victim before fleeing the scene without stopping to render aid. This tragic event has prompted an investigation by the LAPD’s West Traffic Division detectives, who are currently seeking any information that might lead to locating and apprehending the suspect. In a bid to encourage witnesses to come forward, the city’s Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for details that result to successfully identify, apprehend, and either convict the offender or resolve the case through a civil compromise, as per the
