Public Safety Blotter, police, fire, and EMS units rushed to the 6600 block of Frankstown Avenue following reports of an aggravated assault at approximately 12:35 p.m.

Officials report that a victim was found outside a nursing home lobby with a gunshot wound through his stomach. Firefighters provided initial aid until medics arrived. Despite his injuries, the elderly man told officers he had been robbed of his cash and wedding band during the attack.

His condition was critical as he lay in the hospital while detectives gathered evidence from a crime scene scattered across the parking lot. It’s unclear if the attack happened where he lives. The Violent Crime Unit is now investigating the assault.
