Method to Find the Wyoming Cities With The Largest Hispanic Population For 2024
We used Saturday Night Science to analyze race data from the US Census for every city in Wyoming. The most recent data available for Wyoming is from the 2018-2022 American Community Survey.
We specifically examined table B03002, which provides information on Hispanic or Latino origin by race. These are the names of the categories defined by the Census:
- Hispanic or Latino
- White alone*
- Black or African American alone*
- American Indian and Alaska Native alone*
- Asian alone*
- Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone*
- Some other race alone*
- Two or more races
The specific column we are focusing on is the number of individuals who identified themselves as Hispanic or Latino. We only looked at locations in Wyoming that have a population of more than 6,000 people. We were left with 16 cities. We calculated the percentage of Hispanic or Latino residents in each city in Wyoming. The percentages range from 25.3% to 5.7%.
Finally, we evaluated each city’s ranking by looking at the percentage of the Hispanic or Latino population. A higher score indicates a higher proportion of Hispanic or Latino residents compared to a lower score. Rawlins had the highest percentage of Hispanic or Latino residents, while Cody had the lowest percentage of Hispanic or Latino residents.
Conclusion
Wyoming’s Census data reveals Rawlins has the highest percentage of Hispanic/Latino residents at 25.27%. Cody has the lowest percentage at 5.69%. Wyoming ranks 23rd with the highest Hispanic/Latino population in the United States.
