According to Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List for 2024, Abigail Johnson, a billionaire, is once again the richest person in Massachusetts.
Johnson’s estimated net worth has increased to $29 billion, up from $25 billion last year. According to the list, she is ranked as the 58th wealthiest person in the world.
The Johnson family, who own Fidelity Investments, are well represented as three out of the top four richest people in Massachusetts. Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, is ranked third in the state.
According to Forbes, there are currently more billionaires than ever before. There are a total of 2,781 billionaires, which is 141 more than last year. The extremely rich individuals have more money than ever before, with a combined worth of $14.2 trillion, which is an increase of $2 trillion compared to last year. Bernard Arnault and his family, who are in charge of the LVMH fashion empire, ranked first on the list with a total wealth of $233 billion. The French company owns 75 fashion and cosmetics brands, such as Louis Vuitton and Sephora.

Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is in second place with a net worth of $195 billion. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has a net worth of $194 billion, which is slightly less than the net worth of Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, who has $177 billion.
The United States currently does not have the wealthiest person in the world, but it does have the highest number of billionaires, with a total of 813. China is in second place with a score of 473.
