Best Places to Stay in Washington State While Travelling

We have been living in Seattle for almost 20 years, so we have become experts in this area. Like many others, we used to travel to distant places more frequently than within our own state. However, in 2020, due to the pandemic, we only travelled locally and now we are slowly beginning to travel to farther destinations again.

I am frequently asked about the best places to stay in Washington State. To help you out, I have created a list of all the places where my family and I have stayed. I will continue to update this list. If you are looking for reviews of hotels and resorts in this area for you and your family, you can find them here.

If you have any specific questions about hotels, please feel free to send a message. Recently, we have started travelling with our puppy, so we are now more conscious about inquiring whether a resort is dog-friendly or not.

Best Place to Stay in Washington State so far

The Inn at Langley was the best place I have ever been to. Maybe it was because we received breakfast in our room every day or because the bathtub had a view of the water. We were surprised to find out that the chairs on our balcony were so comfortable that we decided to buy them from West Elm for our house as well. The snacks were different every day. The room was very comfortable. We even brought our twelve-year-olds and dog with us, and I would go back anytime. It was the most relaxing and dreamy place I have ever been to. The hotel allows dogs, but when we made our booking in 2021, children under 12 were not permitted.

Bellevue Hotel Reviews

Hyatt Regency Bellevue- This place has Eques, which is our favourite breakfast buffet. You should definitely try the Tiramisu pancakes if they are available on the menu. If you are in the Seattle area during Christmas and want to see Snowflake Lane without dealing with a lot of traffic or crowds, this hotel is a great place to stay.

Seattle Hotel Reviews

Hilton Seattle – This hotel is located in downtown Seattle and offers connecting rooms for families. Additionally, they are pet-friendly and welcome pets. The location is directly opposite a Mod Pizza restaurant.

Motif Seattle – This hotel is also pet-friendly. Its Frolik restaurant offers interesting drinks and snacks, and it has an outdoor patio.

Hyatt Regency Seattle – If you’re staying at this hotel, you might want to think about adding lounge access to your club level room. It’s a nice amenity to have. We didn’t bring a puppy, but Hyatt hotels are often pet-friendly. Check the website when you make your reservation.

Beyond Seattle

Sagecliff Resort and Spa: We stayed in one of the stand-alone condos designed by local architect Olson Kundig, and it was a fantastic place to stay. We visited in April and were able to bring our bikes to ride around the area. It was a great homebase. However, it’s important to note that at certain times of the year, it may be very snowy or hot, so it’s a good idea to check the weather before you go. Not all units are pet-friendly, but some of them are. This resort is connected to a winery and is a convenient place to stay if you are attending a concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre.

Suncadia: This resort in Cle Elum is located near hiking trails and offers amenities such as tennis courts, golf courses, swimming pools, and a variety of summer sports activities. It is also a great place to visit during the winter season. There are a lot of new restaurants opening in Cle Elum, such as Chef Shota’s Banzai teriyaki and Dru Bru’s new taproom. There are also hikes like this one to a fire lookout near Suncadia that we went to once at sunset.

The Lodge at Columbia Point: This location is in Richland, which is part of the Tri-Cities area. It is situated along the waterfront. We have suites and rooms that are dog-friendly. We also offer bike rentals and have an open-air pool for the kids. If you prefer to eat on your balcony instead of going to a restaurant, the restaurant here offers great room service.
