Detroit Police Successfully Locate Missing 17-Year-Old Girl

DETROIT — Detroit Police have announced that Alexis Jackson, a 17-year-old girl who went missing on Juneteenth, has been found. Alexis was last seen on June 19 after attending a family gathering in the 3900 block of Harding, near Mack Ave. in the East Canfield neighborhood. When she did not return home, her family reported her missing.

On Wednesday, the Detroit Police Department confirmed that Alexis had been recovered but did not disclose details about her whereabouts during the missing period or the circumstances of her recovery.

The search for Alexis involved both police and community efforts, including neighborhood canvassing, reviewing surveillance footage, and spreading awareness via social media and flyers. Chief James White expressed gratitude for the community’s support, which played a crucial role in locating Alexis.
