Pregnant Wife Missing Since July Soldier Taken into Custody

In the midst of an inquiry into the disappearance of his pregnant 19-year-old wife, a soldier stationed in Hawaii has been detained on multiple charges.

Mischa Mabeline Kaalohilani Johnson was reported missing from her residence at Schofield Barracks on the military post in Oahu that is home to the 25th Infantry Division.

This information was received by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division on August 1.

The last known sighting of her was on July 31. A $10,000 prize was made public by the Criminal Investigation Division in exchange for information about her disappearance and “credible information” that leads to her recovery.

Johnson is expecting a child in six months.

On August 19, the 25th Infantry Division declared that Johnson’s spouse, Pfc. Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, had been placed in military pretrial custody, nearly three weeks after she vanished.

Dewayne Johnson is accused of making false statements in official capacities, obstructing the course of justice, and producing and disseminating child pornography, according to a statement released by the U.S. Army Office of Special Trial Counsel on August 27.

According to Michelle McCaskill, an office spokesperson, authorities are “certain that law enforcement will exhaust all efforts to find Mischa and the likelihood of additional charges is certainly a possibility as the case develops.”
