While saving a victim from a flaming car on Monday night, a police officer in Central California sustained second-degree burns.
Around nine o’clock at night, according to Ripon police, they received a report about a Tesla being driven erratically at the Love’s truck stop in the city. It was also allegedly parked in multiple handicap spaces.
The driver was reportedly inside the store when an officer arrived on the scene in time to speak with the passenger. But at some point during the interaction, according to the police, the driver returned to the Tesla and drove off.
After losing sight of the car at first, police received word that it had crashed close to Jacktone Road and Santos Avenue.
According to the officers, the automobile ran the intersection before slamming into other cars.
According to authorities, the Tesla was rapidly catching fire while the passenger was still inside. Just a few seconds before the automobile was completely enveloped in flames, officers swiftly acted and extracted that passenger.
The video above, which was captured using a body camera, shows the exact moment the passenger was removed from the car.

While the passenger is in serious condition, one cop sustained second-degree burns to his hands during the rescue, according to the police.
Just after the collision, the motorist fled, but according to the police, they apprehended them a little later that evening. Hit-and-run felonies are still being charged.
