Following the discovery of a woman deceased in a Detroit alleyway and the burning and abandonment of a car, four persons have been accused in relation to the murder.
At 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2024, in the 5400 block of Argyle Street in Dearborn, Dearborn police were summoned to the scene of an attempted auto theft, according to the prosecution. Shots were fired during the incident.
Prosecutors claim that Mohammed Haitham Ahmad and Ali Haitham Ahmad, both of Dearborn, opened fire on a car they thought was attempting to steal a car from them.
Shahid Al-Aziz Muhammad was the driver of the car when he was shot. Paige Marie Knox, a passenger, died after being shot. Ebony Aaron Pugh, the third traveler, was unharmed.
Shahid Al-Aziz Muhammad and Pugh disposed of Knox’s body in an alley in Detroit’s 15000 block of Grand River after Ousting from the gunshot scene, according to Dearborn police.
Detroit’s 15000 block of Ellsworth is where the vehicle’s burnt remains were discovered.
This Thursday, September 19, 2024, saw the arrests of Mohammed Ahmad, Ali Ahmad, Shahid Muhammad, and Ebony Pugh.
Wayne County prosecutor charges men
Charges were brought against each man by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
- Mohammed Ahmad faces charges related to felony firearm, manslaughter, and second-degree murder.
- Ali Ahmad is accused of manslaughter, felony firearm, and second-degree murder.
- Shahid Muhammad is accused with third-degree arson, hiding a death, and trying to illegally drive away a car.
- Ebony Pugh faces charges of third-degree arson, hiding a murder, and attempting to drive away an automobile without permission.

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, all four men were arraigned in Wayne County’s 19th District Court.
Ebony Pugh and Shahid Muhammad received a $250,000 cash bond. Ali Ahmad and Mohammed Ahmad were placed under detention without bond.
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the guys are scheduled to return to court for a probable cause conference.
