Suspect in Custody for Murder of 22-Year-Old Keambra Bibbs, Houston Community Seeks Justice

Houston police have arrested Cerdarian Patrick O’Neal Thompson, who was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Keambra Bibbs. Bibbs was found critically injured from a gunshot at 7700 Main Street in early September. The arrest follows the investigation into her death.

According to an official news release from the Houston Police Department, at approximately 12:15 p.m. on September 4, officers responded to a call reporting a person down at the aforementioned address. Arriving with the Houston Fire Department paramedics, they found Bibbs, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation and evidence gathered there pointed unwaveringly to Thompson as a suspect. Charged with murder by the 232nd State District Court, the case seemed to have reached a turning point when Thompson, aged 31, surrendered to law enforcement earlier this week.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen have been leading the investigation, building the case that ensued Thompson’s arrest. With the collected evidence and subsequent charge approval from the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the legal proceedings are anticipated to set motion, with Thompson now taken into custody at the Harris County Jail.
