Pierce County Adjusts Auditor’s Office Services for Election, Recommends Online Transactions to Voters

With a significant increase in voter turnout expected for the General Election yesterday, Pierce County is making adjustments to its Auditor’s Office services. Routine services such as passport issuance will be temporarily suspended, and licensing and recording services will be limited through Election Day to accommodate the voting process, according to an announcement made by the Pierce County.

Anticipating to serve close to 10,000 voters, other operations will be constrained by the election activities, and parking availability at the County Auditor’s Office will also see a significant reduction. For residents needing to complete transactions, they are advised to either visit the Auditor’s online portal or one of the outside 10 licensing agencies spread across the county.

Located in the County Annex building at 2401 S. 35th St., the Voting Center will extend its hours from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and will remain open until 8 p.m. on Tuesday for the General Election. The center offers several services to those eligible to vote, including the ability to register to vote, update voter registration, acquire or replace a ballot, and access disability aids like large font and audible ballot options.

Other amenities, such as getting Washington State or Pierce County voters’ pamphlets, are also available for individuals who arrive at the Voting Center. Given the Election Day’s heightened activity, the Auditor’s Office reassures the public that it will resume standard operations starting today.
