The Butler City Police Department responded to a 911 call around 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of American Avenue, according to details released by CBS News Pittsburgh. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered 47-year-old Christopher Waggett on the ground, already receiving aid from nearby individuals.

Waggett was reportedly suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to quickly administer care, Waggett later succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Sean Williams, was found to be hiding swiftly near the location of the incident. According to the report by WTAE, police believe the altercation between Waggett and Williams, which seems to have originated from a family dispute, escalated into the public street before turning deadly.

Following the shooting, Williams was apprehended and is now facing a homicide charge. Butler City police have since transported him to the Butler County Prison. They continue investigating the events leading up to the deadly encounter.
