SFPD Busts Major Fentanyl Ring in Tenderloin District, Three Suspected Traffickers Arrested

Following a month-long investigation by the SFPD Narcotics Unit into alleged drug trafficking within the Tenderloin District, efforts culminated in the arrest of three suspects accused of operating a narcotics ring. Last night, SFPD officers detained Marvin Izaguirre Varela, 20, on the 900 block of Market Street in San Francisco after observing his departure from Oakland. A search of Varela revealed Fentanyl and paraphernalia indicative of drug dealing, according to the San Francisco Police Department’s official statement.

That same evening, officers executed a search of the implicated residence on the 1100 block of 16th Street in Oakland, seizing over four pounds of Fentanyl, ammunition, cash, and equipment used in drug trafficking and manufacturing. This search led to the arrest of two additional suspects, Emilson Benega Ramos, 21, and Cesar Gutierrez Doplado, 18, who were subsequently booked at Santa Rita Jail on multiple charges, including possession for sale and conspiracy.

Izaguirre Varela is currently held at San Francisco County Jail on charges that include the sale and transportation of a controlled substance and maintaining premises for drug activities. For more details regarding the investigation or to provide information, contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or text the keyword SFPD to TIP411.
