. The sergeant, working with the Highway Patrol Unit, was hit when the dirt bike ran through a stop sign.

Following the collision, resident Anthony Wade quickly acted to detain the individual trying to flee the scene. According to

, Wade intervened as the dirt bike rider attempted to restart his bike, Small said, “That’s when a (neighbor) intervened and was able to stop the 22-year-old from fleeing the scene.”
