A nearly three-hour manhunt ensued on Tuesday after a residential burglary in Pelham, New Hampshire, ending with the apprehension of a suspect in the woods. According to a

from the Pelham Police Department, officers responded to an alert of a burglary at a Stevens Road residence at approximately 3:56 pm. The homeowner, monitoring the intrusion via cameras, guided dispatch with updates on the suspect’s movements inside their home.

Challenged by officers to surrender, the suspect eventually emerged but decided to flee on foot instead, leading authorities on a chase down Stevens Road and into densely wooded terrain. Despite their efforts, officers briefly lost sight of him. With the aid of reinforcements from the Salem NH Police Department and Dracut Police Department, brought in from nearby election duties, a perimeter was established as the search intensified. Authorities used infrared cameras and an infrared drone operated by the Salem Police Department, evidently essential to the suspect’s eventual location, in conjunction with their K9 unit.

Public safety announcements were promptly disseminated via Tip411 alerts and additional social media posts, urging local residents to stay indoors and secure their doors as the search continued. As dusk approached, Salem Police K9 “Dash” and Pelham officers finally apprehended the suspect in the area between Island Pond Road and Diamond Hill Road after a near three-hour pursuit, according to a report from the
