St. Louis Park Equips Major Parks with Life-Saving AEDs in New Public Safety Push

In St. Louis Park, Minnesota, a breath of life is now just a short sprint away in several local parks. The city has announced a new public safety initiative that’s anything but a walk in the park for cardiac emergencies. Teamed up with a public safety grant, the parks and recreation department has stocked up on AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) at four major green spaces: Wrk, Aquila Park, Louisiana Oaks Park, and Westwood Hills Nature Center, as reported by the

.

The device installation is part of an effort to quickly provide critical aid in the moments that matter. These AEDs are equipped with voice-guided instructions to ensure that even those untrained in their use can confidently attempt to jumpstart someone’s life back into rhythm. According to a

social media post

from the City of St. Louis Park, “Contrary to popular belief, any one of us can deliver life-saving assistance in the case of a cardiac emergency!”

Heart beats don’t wait and, with these AEDs in place, now first responders in St. Louis Park parks won’t have to either. “These AEDs will be available year-round and will walk you through step-by-step instructions for their operation,” the

city’s statement

reassured.
