In Fairfield, a man was fatally run over multiple times in a mall parking lot, authorities said. The incident, which occurred yesterday at the Solano Town Center’s northside parking lot, led to the arrest of 25-year-old Fairfield resident Vakautakava Tangitau, according to a social media post from the

.

Witnesses told police that the suspect drove a white Dodge pickup truck used to commit the murder reportedly. Tangitau didn’t manage to escape for long as one watchful witness bravely decided to follow him while also contacting police Dispatch. Law enforcement was able to quickly apprehend Tangitau in the 800 block of East Tabor Avenue. He was taken into custody without further incident despite his reportedly violent actions earlier in the day.

The police indicated that Tangitau is a known figure to them, with previous mental health calls associated with his name. He is currently being processed at Solano County Jail, where he will face murder charges. Investigators are still piecing together the motive behind the gruesome act.
