Prineville Street at Hillsborough Boulevard Set for Upcoming Closure, Charlotte County Commuters Advised to Seek Alternatives

Charlotte County Public Works Department has issued a traffic advisory indicating that Prineville Street at the junction with Hillsborough Boulevard will be briefly accessible starting tomorrow until Monday, but on Tuesday it’s set to close again until further notice.

This is not the first time local drivers have had to navigate construction-related detours, and as usual, the familiar orange detour signs will mark the alternative paths. Traffic is expected to be affected intermittently, resulting in potential delays and slower travel through the project vicinity.

Given the unpredictability of construction timelines, travelers are being reminded of the inherent uncertainties that come with these disruptions. “Travelers may experience intermittent, slow-moving traffic and/or temporary delays within the project area and are encouraged to choose an alternate route when possible or avoid the area if not necessary,” as per

Charlotte County Public Works Department.
