A grand jury in Osceola County indicted 31-year-old Christopher Garrett on charges of First Degree Murder (with a Firearm) for his alleged role in a fatal shooting at a Kissimmee hookah lounge last year, authorities said Wednesday.

The indictment stems from an incident on November 14, 2023, when deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Lungo Lounge in the 3200 block of Vineland Road. At the scene, they found Joshua Mitchell, who had been shot, he later collapsed from his injuries and was pronounced dead after being rushed to a local hospital. Garrett, identified as the prime suspect through police investigation, was later arrested in Ohio and extradited back to Osceola County earlier this year.
