, officers were dispatched to the intersection of the Los Angeles River and Anaheim Street on Nov. 7 following a stabbing incident that left one woman with a non-life-threatening injury.

During the confrontation that escalated from a verbal dispute to a physical one, a female suspect inflicted a stab wound to the victim’s upper body, subsequently fleeing the scene, as per the

. Long Beach Fire Department personnel secured the victim to a nearby hospital. Amid city tensions, officers were also drawn to Market Street and Linden Avenue where they disarmed and arrested an individual prohibited from possessing a firearm following a fight involving numerous subjects.

“Great work officers! Yesterday officers safely took two guns off the streets,” commended the

LBPD

through their official communication channels, noting the proactive efforts to ameliorate potential harm to the community. Aside from the stabbing, and the previously mentioned firearm confiscation, another gun was recovered in the early hours of Nov. 8 after officers answered a disputed call on the 2100 block of Florida Avenue, where they apprehended another prohibited possessor.

Both cases involving firearms are currently under investigation. The

LBPD

is following leads and working diligently to discern the circumstances behind these potentially dangerous situations, efforts which mirror the department’s broader mandate to secure public safety and investigate crimes thoroughly.
