The Mansfield Police Department recently celebrated a significant milestone with the retirement of Officer Jack White, a 25-year veteran who has been pivotal in the advancement of their Drone Unit. The department took to social media to acknowledge his contributions which have not only impacted the local Mansfield community but have also influenced multiple neighboring agencies in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Under Officer White’s stewardship, the Drone Unit expanded significantly, evolving into the largest it has ever been and integrating various types of drones designed for a wide range of missions. Conducting indoor and outdoor operations, during day and night, these missions encompass building clearing operations, intelligence gathering, and securing public events. The upgraded Drone Unit is now essential to the safety of the community and the safety of the officers during their routine duties, as touching the community did not just reach their roads and houses but also took flight, bringing surveillance and aid from above.
