A Grand Rapids man currently serving time for an unrelated felony has been indicted in the six-year-old murder case of a Kalamazoo resident, authorities reported. In the early morning of Nov. 17, 2018, KDPS officers discovered Ford with gunshot wounds in a driveway on Douglas Avenue near W North Street. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Ford succumbed to his injuries. The case subsequently stalled due to insufficient leads, yet investigators persevered, unearthing new evidence that pointed to Reed as a suspect, according to

Reed faces multiple charges, including open murder, two counts of felony firearm, possession of a weapon by a felon, and carrying a concealed weapon. Currently, he is incarcerated at the Michigan Department of Corrections facility in Jackson for a separate 2018 assault with intent and felony firearm case from Kent County.
