, Marcus Gonzales, a 20-year-old from San Antonio, was arrested on charges of murder after a shooting incident in an Applebee’s restaurant parking lot resulted in the death of 19-year-old Chance Herron and injuries to a 20-year-old woman.

The violent event unfolded on October 1, around 12:20 a.m. at the parking lot situated at the 900 block of the I-35 North Frontage Rd, where police attending the scene found both Herron and the injured woman with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle, they were subsequently transported to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, where Herron later died. In what appears to be a rapid unraveling of events after a complex investigation the New Braunfels Police Department brought Gonzales into custody as the latest of four alleged perpetrators in this grave incident, as reported by

There’s a detailed web of arrests in the case preceding Gonzales’ apprehension. Richard Rosas, also 20 years old, was the third to be arrested after surrendering on October 18, he is currently being held at the Comal County Jail with a bond set at $500,000. The first apprehended suspect was Jacob Rowser, nabbed by the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Alabama on October 8, and later extradited to Texas where he was initially slapped with a combined $575,000 bond for charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon which he posted, leading to his release on October 22; meanwhile, two days after Rowser’s arrest, Justin Sherard landed in police custody in New Braunfels, saddled with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges, sitting on a combined bond of $600,000 in the county confines, as per
