, the Neighborhood Services department is offering a free workshop on Nov. 19 to educate locals on various grant opportunities for home and neighborhood improvements

A city news release said the workshop, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Public Library, located at 1197 W. Main Street, will cover details of the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block initiative, and Neighborhood Enhancement Program. The presenters will offer instructions on how to apply for these grants while providing insights into other available countywide resources.

These grants are part of the city’s effort to support “Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods,” a goal outlined in the Lewisville 2025 vision plan. The Property Enhancement Program offers a financial grant rebate for exterior home repairs and a 50 percent matching grant rebate up to a capped amount. Love Your Block also provides a $500 reimbursable mini-grant for community engagement activities. These grants encourage residents to cultivate a stronger sense of community through initiatives ranging from neighborhood parties to shared space beautification.

The Neighborhood Enhancement Program offers funding up to $12,500 for groups aiming to enhance their local environment. The grants can be used for diverse projects like developing entryway features or creating Neighborhood Emergency Response Teams.
