Maui Seeks Public Input on Playground Improvements: A Chance to Shape Local Parks in Kīhei, Makawao, and Kahului

Maui residents, the Department of Parks and Recreation is asking for your input on playground improvements at three County parks. The department has scheduled community input workshops. The first will be at Hale Piʻilani Park in Kīhei on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. If you can’t attend, there’s another at Eddie Tam Memorial Park in Makawao on November 20 at 6:30 p.m., and one more at Kahului School Playground on November 25 at 5:30 p.m.

This is a valuable opportunity for residents to influence the features and amenities of their local playgrounds. If you have suggestions for improvement, be sure to share them.

For those who need more information before offering their two cents, or simply have inquiries, the Parks Planning and Development Division is available at (808) 270-7931. You could also swing by the County of Maui’s parks website to see what’s currently out there. All the details about this public outreach initiative can be found on the
