A teacher’s aide at a White Oak elementary school has been charged with offenses relating to the alleged assault of a 5-year-old boy with special needs. Accused 53-year-old Amy Kevicki is said to have been captured on video grabbing the child by the back of the neck and shoving him to the ground. Following the incident, she allegedly walked away without attending to the boy. As per the Allegheny County Police Department, the charges of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and summary harassment have been brought against Kevicki after consultation with the District Attorney’s Office.

Officials say the child wasn’t physically hurt, but the emotional and psychological effects could be significant, especially for a young child with special needs.
