Taxpayers planning to visit the Oregon Department of Revenue’s offices next week might need to adjust their schedules. The Department’s
Medford regional office
located at 3613 Aviation Way, Suite 102, will shut its doors early at noon on November 18, 2024, and will remain closed for the entire day on November 19 for staff training sessions.
For those who need to deliver payments or documents during the closure, a secure drop box is at the taxpayer’s service, while receipts for any transactions will be dispatched directly to customers by the office staff, ensuring their time-sensitive submissions are acknowledged. It’s important to note that not just Medford, but other district offices in Bend, Gresham, Portland, and Eugene, as well as the department’s main office in Salem will be inaccessible on November 19, but Medford will continue to operate under its normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting again on Wednesday, November 20, the office assures continuity post-training.
Adapting to the digital age, the Department of Revenue is channeling more resources into its online services. Revenue Online, the department’s digital portal, empowers individuals to tackle tasks that would traditionally require a visit to the office; activities such as inspecting correspondence from the department, launching appeals, processing payments, and engaging departmental staff with queries can all be managed from the convenience of a digital device.
For those interested in the department’s electronic offerings, additional information and tutorials on how to navigate the Revenue Online system are available on their website. In the interim, while some may see the temporary shuttering of these offices as an inconvenience, it’s a move towards enhancing the efficiency and skills of the department’s workforce, aiming to bring about improvements in the services provided to the taxpayers of Oregon in the future.
