Marin County Sheriff’s Office personnel, following an investigation, have confirmed the arrest of two convicted felons for possession of firearms and controlled substances in the San Rafael area. According to a social media post by the
Marin County Sheriff’s Office
, officials detained 33-year-old Drane Hicks and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Jonathan Poole, after executing a search warrant on Hicks’ residence this morning.
Hicks, with a record prohibiting her from firearms ownership, was found in possession of suspected cocaine at the time of the search. She was cited at the scene and subsequently released; Poole, restrained by a court protective order from contacting the mother of his child, was caught carrying a loaded handgun and materials indicative of marijuana sales, adding to his prohibition stemming from a previous conviction for evading police and endangering the public. The search of Poole’s backpack turned up not just the handgun but also marijuana packaged in a manner consistent with a sale, a scale, and a variety of other controlled substances.
The pair’s rap sheet includes a mix of drug-related charges and restrictions against possessing firearms and ammunition. Poole now faces multiple charges, including violation of a court order, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a loaded concealed firearm, possession of marijuana for sales, transport of marijuana for sales, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and violation of both a protective order and probation.
Poole’s list of charges provided by the
