Residents of the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood awoke to sounds of gunfire yesterday morning, as a dispute over locksmith services escalated into a shooting that injured two men. The incident occurred in the 4700 block of Nebraska around 9:45 a.m., with the violence shattering what was an otherwise routine day. Law enforcement officers assigned to District 1 were dispatched to the scene following reports of the gunfire.

The 20-year-old’s injuries were serious enough to necessitate transportation to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services, he was subsequently listed in stable condition. Not long after the initial shooting, officers were notified of another shooting victim, this one with a wound to his back, showing up at a local hospital. This individual was identified as the male suspect involved in the earlier altercation, who refused to provide an account of what transpired.
