Albemarle Police apprehended two juveniles in connection to an early morning car chase involving a stolen white Mercedes-Benz. The incident, which kicked off when a police officer narrowly avoided a collision with the Mercedes after it ran a stop sign around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, ended with the arrest of two males and a third still at large, as

After the chase concluded on South Morrow Street, officers, with the aid of Stanly County K-9s, managed to detain one suspect at the scene and another following a brief search each suspect was found in possession of a handgun, and though their identities have not been disclosed due to age-related privacy rules, they face multiple felony charges, according to

. It appears that the stolen vehicle, left unlocked with keys inside, was taken moments before the chase ensued, a mistake that led to a perilous sequence of events.
The ongoing investigation suggests that these individuals could be linked to a string of recent vehicle thefts in the Albemarle area, as pointed out by
