Following a diligent inquiry by various law enforcement agencies, the Broward Sheriff’s Office has made public the apprehension of eight individuals linked to a series of violent crimes across Broward County. The detained suspects, associated with a gang notorious for its capacity for violence, are facing a multitude of grave charges including murder and attempted murder, in connection with multiple incidents spanning several years. Among the arrests occurred in June, August, and recently, last Thursday – as indicated in
NBC Miami’s
report.
The individuals embroiled in these legal proceedings are Sigmund Brown, 27, Kevaris Johnson, 23, Gerard Charles, 30, Vondarious Davis, 29, Tyriq Jackson, 24, Jared McCabe, 25, Trayvon Key, 27, and a minor Rajah Rolle, 16, facing an indictment that tallies up to 33 counts. These arrests stem from relentless efforts by BSO’s Gang Investigations Task Force, Broward State Attorney’s Office, and their affiliates. Five of the gang members were already brought before a judge today, while the others await their arraignment set for Friday, as reported by

.
Triggering this comprehensive investigation was the murder of 17-year-old Terrance Farrington Jr., shot dead outside a Best Buy in Plantation on January 20. This capturing incident also left three others injured and linked one of the gang’s alleged leaders, Sigmund Brown, to the crime scene through recovered fingerprints found on a related vehicle. Brown, known to spearhead the Dania Hot Boyz gang, has become a central figure in this complex case narrative.
Authorities have connected the gang to not just the Best Buy shooting but a spate of other harmful incidents, including eight homicides and twelve attempted homicides. Amongst the tragic losses was 17-year-old Johnnie Henderson, killed while accompanied by his girlfriend in their vehicle under gunfire. Henderson’s girlfriend survived the incident and has been released from the hospital. Furthermore, the gang is believed to have involvement in the 2021 death of rapper Wiz Da Wizard, also known as Wisdom Williams, as detailed by
WSVN.
If the court process results in a conviction for these individuals, they face severe legal repercussions – potentially life imprisonment or the death penalty, with the exception of the minor. The seizures related to the arrests included firearms, ammunition, gift cards, and stolen credit cards, further implicating the gang’s expansive illegal activities.
