The City of Sacramento is accepting proposals for the Sacramento Children’s Fund grant program, offering $17.9 million over the first three-and-a-half years. The funding aims to support the city’s most disadvantaged youth, with public agencies and non-profits encouraged to apply. Application details are available on the

According to the

, grants ranging from $25,000 to $500,000 per year are available, covering up to 3.5 years based on compliance. The application deadline is December 6 at 5 p.m. Submissions will be reviewed by the end of the year and must be approved by the City Council.

The Sacramento Children’s Fund, also known as Measure L, was created through a voter-approved initiative in the 2022 election. The fund aims to support young people in the city affected by poverty, violence, and trauma. It serves children and adolescents aged 0 to 24. A nine-member Planning and Oversight Commission has been guiding the fund through a Strategic Investment Plan since its approval in August.

Following the commission’s plan, the City Council adopted the Strategic Investment Plan on September 24, setting goals to address child homelessness and improve youth mental health. “We are grateful to the community, commissioners, and City team for their commitment to bringing Measure L to life through the Strategic Investment Plan,” said Youth Development Program Manager Rene Kausin in a statement obtained by the
