has released information about the accident which occurred on Sunday, November 10, at approximately 6:29 p.m. Walker, a white female born on January 10, 1985, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a vehicle that failed to stop.
Investigators are treating this as Austin’s 76th fatal traffic incident of the year, tallying up to 81 lives lost on the city’s roads. At this point last year, the count was at 77 fatal crashes, resulting in 80 fatalities. The increase, although slight, marks a distressing trend in traffic-related deaths across the city. The hit-and-run driver has not been apprehended and, the circumstances leading to Walker’s death are still under active investigation.
