A vehicle accident in Wood Village on Tuesday night has taken the life of one person. Deputies were called to the scene in the 1000 block of NE 238th Drive at approximately 11:20 p.m. following reports of a serious crash, as reported by the

The sole occupant, driving a Volkswagen Jetta, was found ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the site by paramedics. The East County Vehicular Crimes Team (ECVCT), which is currently handling the investigation, has disclosed that the driver appeared to not be wearing a seatbelt. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.
Early indications from the investigation suggest that neither drugs nor alcohol were immediately determined to have been a factor, with the official determination pending results from the Medical Examiner’s office.
