Witnesses observed four individuals fleeing the crash scene and heading toward a nearby shopping center. After a short pursuit, officers detained three suspects. Among the arrested, a 28-year-old female complained of illness and was transported to the hospital. Arrests involved 27-year-old Michael Leon Brown, who is listed without a fixed address, and Dasia Janice Luck, a 25-year-old from Capitol Heights, Maryland. Luck was found to have an outstanding warrant.
The fourth suspect, Alajahwaun Isaiah Grayton, 33, from Washington, DC, was apprehended later that evening. Officers were called to the 900 block of Waugh Chapel Way following reports of two individuals tampering with vehicles. On scene, officers encountered Grayton, who was arrested and charged with both incidents.
A 17-year-old female from Temple Hills, Maryland, was also found to be involved in vehicle tampering at the exact location and charged accordingly. The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 38-year-old female, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical attention at an area hospital. Details regarding criminal charges are still pending for the 28-year-old female involved in the auto theft case.
