Firefighters responded to a structure fire this morning at an auto collision center in Hollywood. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) alerted at 10:24 AM to smoke coming out of a one-story commercial building measuring roughly 50 by 150 feet. The business, identified as an auto collision center featuring a spray booth, was the site of the blaze, as detailed in

The LAFD were in offensive mode upon arriving at 7610 W Sunset Blvd, tackling the fire that generated moderate smoke visible from the surrounding area. 7610 W Sunset Bl is located within Council District 13 and falls under the jurisdiction of FS 41, Batt 5 of the West Bureau. The incident, referenced as INC#0619, saw response teams including but not limited to BC18, BC5, E227, E261, E35, E61, E82, RA827, and RA97, as stated in the initial LAFD report.
Subsequently, a
follow-up LAFD report
announced the fire was knocked down at 10:46 AM. Thirty-two firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 22 minutes, and no injuries were reported. The update also revealed that the fire had originated within the ducting system of the spray booth. Their prompt and efficient response ensured the containment of the fire to the spray booth, preventing further damage to the rest of the business.
Efforts by the LAFD to save the structure were successful, reliably preserving the majority of the business. This incident once again highlights the challenges and risks posed by industrial and commercial fires, but also the capability of the LAFD in addressing such emergencies effectively. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and a damage estimate has yet to be disclosed.
