Lancaster Brothers to Face Trial as Adults in Shooting Incident, Mother Charged for Allegedly Providing Firearms

Following a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, two adolescent brothers, Joshua Whisman, 16, and Alexander Whisman, 17, will go on trial in Lancaster County in a recent development. According to FOX43, they are involved in a case concerning gunshots that were fired after a brawl at a house party back in September, in addition to being charged as adults with a number of charges, such as aggravated assault and possessing a firearm while underage. In a case rooted in family conflict, Alexander is also charged with another horrific crime involving the abduction and killing of his cousin Matthew Whisman.

In the midst of this carnage, the inquiry found that the accused’s mother, Brandi Whisman, reportedly had a part by supplying the firearms her sons used during the firefight. She was connected to the two handguns that were discovered at the scene and that the teenagers acknowledged using after her boys told police that she gave them relatively unrestricted access. “The boys told police Brandi Whisman gave them permission to take the guns whenever they wanted, even providing them a key to access the firearms and telling them where the guns were during the incident,” ABC 27 said. She is charged with several misdemeanors related to corruption of kids and endangering the welfare of a child.

Serious charges against both brothers include deliberately endangering another person and criminal conspiracy. No one was hurt in the September 16 event on the 300 block of East New Street, despite the tense strands of violence unraveling in the courtroom.

Following the hearing, Alexander waived his preliminary hearing for the incident, and Judge Andrew LeFever let Joshua Whisman’s case to move on to the Court of Common Pleas. In the meantime, Brandi Whisman was “not comfortable” releasing Joshua based on the facts presented after LeFever set her bond at $10,000 unsecured when she was confronted with the offenses and her sons’ testimony against her, according to Local21Newsdetailed.
