Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s “Student Saturday” Makes Driver Licensing Easy for Teens

A new “Student Saturday” event is coming up at the Tax Collector’s Office in Hillsborough County. This will be a great way for students to start off the holiday season. This program, which starts tomorrow at the East Tampa office at 2814 E. Hillsborough Ave., makes it easier for kids to get their driver’s licenses without having to miss work or school.

“Student Saturday” has become a regular for high school and college students in the area because it gets good feedback. Parental and teen attendees of our Student Saturday events continue to give us great feedback. Hillsborough County Tax Collector Nancy C. Millan told Hillstax.org that these events show how committed we are to making services easy for everyone in our community to use. Parents have clearly liked how the event is focused on the students. Renee Nelson said, “This made life so much easier because we didn’t have to take time off work or school for our teen to get their permit.” It went quickly and was fun. The whole team was happy. They told the kids to speak up for themselves and told the parents to stay out of the way while the child went through the process. Really surprised!

Students who are qualified and have a valid student ID can take written or driving skills tests at the event. Tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., bookings can be made at the East Tampa office in good time. Due to the success of “Student Saturday,” people who want to take part are encouraged to pre-register as soon as possible.

In addition to events on the weekends, the Tax Collector’s Office has a lot of important tasks to do, such as collecting and distributing different types of local taxes. It’s also an agent for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, gives out a lot of licenses, and works with other state and local agencies to provide extra services. It’s a place where people can get easy access to new and useful solutions that help them.
