Yesterday morning, a car at the intersection of Rose Street and Josephine Street in Berkeley struck and killed a 78-year-old man. The official report from the City of Berkeley states that the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound car at 5:31 p.m. when he was crossing Rose Street.

Following a swift response from the Berkeley Police Department to the unfortunate event, the victim was taken to Highland Hospital and eventually passed away from his wounds. The Department’s Fatal Accident inquiry Team is leading the inquiry, and the driver, a 79-year-old Berkeley lady, has been assisting investigators.
