Milwaukee’s Week Ahead, A Chilly Mix of Rain and Clouds with Unsettled Weather in Store

The Milwaukee National Weather Service predicts a range of weather conditions over the next week as locals grab their umbrellas and jackets. The city should anticipate cloudy skies and a high of about 51 degrees, along with a south breeze that will get stronger in the afternoon. The morning began with patchy fog that cleared. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 40 percent chance of rain tonight, mostly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., so residents should be ready for possible showers.

With highs expected to be close to 57 degrees on Sunday, the slim probability of showers doesn’t deter the clouds, which are expected to hang over the sky for the majority of the day. The National Weather Service reported, “A slight chance of showers before 9 a.m., then a slight chance of showers after noon.” Expect largely cloudy conditions as night falls, which should gradually clear up to reveal a cooler low of about 34 degrees.

With a 60% chance of precipitation and showers expected after midday, Monday’s forecast signals the beginning of a more regular wet pattern. With a high of around 54 degrees and light winds moving east and getting stronger over the afternoon, the city will experience an increase in clouds. Rainfall could range from three quarters to one inch on Monday night, along with windy weather.

As we go into the middle of the week, Tuesday is expected to bring gusty weather and rain before midday, with highs of over 60 degrees. The National Weather Service predicts a gusty southeast wind that will turn southwest in the aftermath, but they also predict “less than a tenth of an inch” of more precipitation. Similar conditions are expected for Wednesday and Thursday, with highs of almost 45 and 42 degrees, largely cloudy skies, and the possibility of rain. Such weather variations necessitate careful planning and consideration to avoid being at the mercy of the damp and cold.

There is some respite in the later half of the week, as the National Weather Service reports that Friday’s chances of rain drop to 20% with partly clear skies and a high of almost 41. Despite the unpredictable weather in Milwaukee, one thing is certain: umbrellas and warm clothing are still the practical choices for anyone going outside in the coming days.
