Dallas and Cedar Hill Men Charged with Felony after Assault on Security Guards at DeSoto Bowling Alley

A routine bowling night escalated into an attack on security personnel last Saturday. The incident, which unfolded at AMF Lanes Bowling Alley in DeSoto, resulted in the dispatch of police to the scene after multiple male suspects were reported to have “jumped” two security guards. The DeSoto Police responded within minutes, arriving at 8:50 pm and quickly apprehending two suspects, 39-year-old Mark Earl Calhoun of Dallas and 29-year-old Quincelle Chanard Jones of Cedar Hill. Both were charged with Assault on a Security Officer and a Third-Degree Felony, according to a social media post from theDeSoto Police Department.

Further details from the police post revealed that the altercation began inside the establishment when two females accompanying the two assailants were involved in a dispute. The guards attempted to escort them out of the place, and that’s when the guards were assaulted, culminating in one officer’s hospitalization.

The two apprehended suspects matched the vehicle description provided to the dispatch and were identified by a victim through surveillance footage. The victims, though having sustained non-life-threatening injuries, had one transported to a hospital for further attention as per theDeSoto Police Department’s statement.
